In the Explore your Brands section, you can analyze search behavior from the perspective of brands. If you prefer, you can easily switch the view to Retailers by using the three-dotted menu at the top right of the section.
The main table gives you:
- Total search volume for each brand or retailer.
- Change in search volume, based on the time frame you selected.
- The Share of Search (SoS) of each brand or retailer compared to the total, and
- The change in SoS over time.
You can control the time period for these metrics via the three-dotted menu in the top right corner, choosing between 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or year-to-date. These changes are always displayed relative to the previous period, so you can easily spot trends.
By default, the section shows four rows, but via the menu, you can expand the view to show more brands or retailers at once. To keep your most important competitors or partners always in view, simply mark them as favorites. They will then appear at the top of the section.
Sorting is just as flexible. By clicking on any of the column titles, you can reorder your data. For example, you can sort by change in search volume to highlight which brands or retailers are gaining or losing momentum.
To dive deeper into a single brand or retailer, select it and click “Analyse” in the top right. A pop-up menu will guide you to the Brand/Retailer Analysis liveboard, where you will find an in-depth breakdown of performance.
This liveboard includes several tabs:
- Overview tab – Here you get a high-level summary of the chosen brand or retailer, including last month’s search volume, yearly and monthly search trends, as well as seasonal effects.
- Market tab – This shows how your selected brand or retailer is performing across regions. Use the “Your Market” filter to switch between country and state-level views, and make sure the date filter at the top of the liveboard reflects your chosen time period. This filter applies to multiple charts throughout the liveboard.
- Product tab – This lets you see the performance of the brand or retailer within different product levels: industry, market segment, product category, or product type. Simply use the “Your Product” filter to change the level of detail and analyze search volumes and growth across all products linked to your selection.
- Brand/Retailer Association tab – This section highlights the associations most searched for in connection with your brand or retailer. Associations are organized into three levels:
- Association Categories (broad themes),
- Association Dimensions (sub-categories), and
- Exact Associations (the specific terms people search for).
To refine your analysis, you can use right-click filter on categories, dimensions, or even from other tabs (such as filtering by product in the “Product” tab) to narrow associations down to your focus area.
- Association Categories (broad themes),
If you want to compare multiple brands or retailers across markets, return to the homepage, select your preferences, and use the Compare option to access the Brand Benchmark liveboard. Here you can benchmark brands or retailers across, view search volumes and growth, and analyze the division between your selected brands or retailers.
